Celebrating Holiness: earthing prayer in everyday life

When?  Saturday 3 November 9.30 am – 2.45 pm
Where? Romsey Abbey
Cost?     free of charge, but donations will be invited

For all Christians, prayer is at the centre of our lives.  Within the ordinary and humdrum events of daily living, God is to be found. This day offers an opportunity to learn more about how we might pray and grow closer to God.

The day will take place within the context of an extended Eucharist, with a choice of workshops and the chance to explore different and creative ways of praying. Including a Prayer Zone, a Creative Zone, and the labyrinth at Wisdom House next door, workshops will include a choice from:

• Contemplative prayer using our bodies
• Exploring silence across the traditions
• Godly Play
• Hands-on prayer
• Icons
• Ignatian prayer
• Prayer and healing
• Prayer in time of darkness
• Praying in the Spirit
• Praying through the sacraments
• Praying with the Bible
• What are you fighting for? – men and spirituality
(more workshops are being confirmed at the time of writing)

The Bishop of Winchester, Tim Dakin, will preside and give the keynote address.
